Children's Ministry @ River Valley Church

Vision

In Proverbs 22:6 it says,

“Train up a child in the way they should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

• Imagine parents raising kids who are growing toward full devotion to

Christ, who can meet the challenges their generation faces and be leaders today.

• Imagine a place where children have so much fun learning about how

awesome God is that they don’t want to miss a single week.

• Imagine a place where the music is so contemporary and engaging that children leave humming the tunes and singing the words that help them remember biblical truths all week; where video and drama are effectively used to teach this media-driven generation about how to live the Christian life at home, at school and in their neighborhoods.

• Imagine a ministry where children are intentionally shepherded in small groups where they are known and loved; where adult volunteers serve with great joy and passion knowing they are influencing the next generation of Christ’s followers.

We believe that by presenting the Word of God to children in an exciting way and dedicated volunteers caring for them and thus leading them into an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ that we can train up a generation in the way it should go.

We also believe in partnering with parents to train their children in spiritual things by giving them tools to take their child's learning home with them. This brings their faith into everyday action as they live it out throughout the week with their family. We believe that what happens at home in many ways is more important than what happens at church. There is power in partnership.

GO Kids SOAP 365

Read each verse daily with your child. Discuss with them how they think this verse applies to their daily life and how it may help them with family, friends or at school. Pray with your child and encourage them to live out what you have prayed and discussed.

WEEKEND STRUCTURE

The Children’s Ministries of River Valley Church is set-up as one

department.  We purposed to do this so that we could develop and

maintain a consistent flow of ministry with our church from age

birth – 5th grade.  Each level builds and prepares young people for

the next level.  We have never met an adult who was not a child at

least once in their life.  We want to teach the Word of God to every

age group at their own level, while preparing them for the next class

and a lifetime of service for the Lord.

GO Baby:  infant – 1 year olds...care specific to the development age of baby (no Wednesdays)

On The GO:  2 - 5 year olds...curriculum taught classrooms using media and small group activity and discussion.

GO Kids:  K - 5th grade...environment and service geared toward elementary age.

Go Friends: 0 - 12 year olds, Saturday night 6:00 p.m., special needs sensory room

WEDNESDAY STRUCTURE

The primary focus of our GO Learn Wednesday service is discipleship. After a time of large group worship, Boys and girls are separated and have gender specific topics and a small group time. We also break down into sub-groups by age so that kids can learn the same overall lesson but in a format that is appropriate for their age.

Teaching begins at 6:30 p.m. Please register your child to ensure we have adequate staffing.
